A tiny antique county map of Merionethshire published by John Luffman in his atlas " New Pocket Atlas and Geography of England and Wales" in 1803. This atlas contained fifty four of these circular maps which measure 6cms in diameter. Beneath each map is an account of the county which includes its size, number of towns, parishes, houses and population and details of rivers, terrain, industry and products of the county.

This antique sea chart was prepared by William MORRIS and is based on the earlier researches of his father Lewis MORRIS. It was published in 1800. The colouring is later.

This antique sea chart was prepared by Lewis MORRIS and is from his "Plans of Harbours, Bars, Bays and Roads in St. George's Channel" published in 1748. Some overall browning and some old tape marks showing through in two corners.

This rare and curious antique map of Merionethshire was produced from the research of ARISTIDE MICHAEL PERROT in 1823. This map, a copper plate engraving, has original outline handcolouring. Some maps show a single county, but more often two or more counties were joined to form a group which is similar in industry, agriculture and terrain.

This antique county map of Merionethshire from is from a rare edition of "The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain" by John Speed, published in 1616 with Latin text on the verso. The maps were generally published uncoloured, but a few copies of the atlas were coloured at the time. This map is from one of those scarce editions.

Pieter Van den Keere (Petrus Kaerius) a Dutch engraver produced these small antique maps which became known as "miniature Speed" published in 1627. The colouring is later. There are two small worm holes in the title cartouche.
