An antique county map of Carmarthenshire from 'English Topography or, A Series of Historical and Statistical Descriptions of the several Counties of England and Wales.' Printed for Baldwin, Craddock, and Joy Paternoster-Row. Published in 1816 with contemporary outline colouring. This map was engraved by John Roper and drawn by George Cole. and originally issued to accompany 'The Beauties of England and Wales' and issued in the 'British Atas' in 1810.

This map by Lt. R. Owen Jones was produced by zincographic transfer to accompany the 1885 Boundary Commissioners Report showing the proposed new divisions of the counties for parliamentary and local government purposes. Top margin cropped close to printed border as shown.

Thomas Taylor is significant in a Welsh context for publishing the small county atlas 'The Principality of Wales exactly described' in 1718, which seems to have been the first published atlas relating entirely to Wales. The colouring is original. Maps from this atlas are not easy to find. Generous margins and fine condition.

This rare and curious antique map of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire was produced from the research of ARISTIDE MICHAEL PERROT in 1823. This map, a copper plate engraving, has original outline handcolouring. Some maps show a single county, but more often two or more counties were joined to form a group which is similar in industry, agriculture and terrain.
